2. How can I get involded?
You can get involved In many ways. Feel free to call, email, or have lunch with one of our staff members to discuss the possibilites. Check out the ministries page and see the many areas in which we serve our community.
4. What programs do you offer for children? Children are encouraged to come and participate in any level they are willing to try during our Sunday morning service and Small Groups. During our Sunday morning services we encourage the children to join us in worship, and after the Friendship Break we have a Children’s Church they can attend. 5. What are Small Groups?
We invite everyone that is interested to attend one of our Small Groups. These Small Groups are the very heartbeat of our church. We meet in peoples homes during the week and they become a basic Christian Community for us. This means we study the bible together, worship God, fellowship with another, and reach out to new people.
We call them Small Groups to distinguish the type of ministry we operate in. The purpose of a human cell is to grow and then multiply. This multiplication process continues throughout the rest of your life. We want the same thing for our Small Groups; to continue growing and providing life. These groups are designed to grow and multiply in deep friendships, spiritual development, and community outreach. It is in a Small Group that we can experience the support and friendship of another person as we grow in a relationship with God.
6. What is the Friendship Break for?
Many people have asked why we have a Friendship Break in the middle of the service. It isn’t a stopping point to refuel on drinks and snacks, even though that isn’t a bad idea. We believe that our role in the community is to form meaningful relationships with people. It can be hard to do that in our morning services unless we take a break to talk and get to know each other. So we have a 10-minute period where people network with each other after the worship time. Then we all come back together with our snacks still in hand to hear the Pastor’s message.
7. How long are the Sunday morning services?
Our services are from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM. We rent the Roseville Sports Center from 9:00 AM 1:00 PM. So you are welcome to come earlier and stay longer. We normally go out to lunch afterwards and invite you come with us.
8. Is there anything expected of me during the singing?
Whether you’re attending a Sunday morning service or a Small Group the only thing we want you to be during worship is real and honest. We don’t have one standard way we practice our worship at G2. We believe that the Holy Spirit will lead you to express yourself to God. It really is up to you to participate in the singing, clapping, or any other expression our Worship Team might offer. The only thing we ask is for you to be genuine and sensitive to others around you.
We started our first church plant in Sacramento, CA in January 2000. We began our first Gateway Fellowship in the Natomas area of Sacramento with the hope to plant a new church every five years. Well our hopes have been fulfilled. Gateway Fellowship of Natomas (G1 as we call it) has developed and matured over the past 6 years and delivered its first daughter church in January 2006. The new church is also called Gateway Fellowship and so will each one that follows. That is why we call ourselves Gateway Fellowship of West Roseville (G2 is our nickname).
G2 officially began in January 2006 in West Roseville, CA. Our public services are held in the Roseville Sports Center on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM. We have been in the Roseville area for about two years but as you can read we have been in the Sacramento and Placer county neighborhoods for the past 7 years.
We are a member of the National Association of Evangelicals with other denominations such as the Assemblies of God, Evangelical Free, Southern Baptists and Calvary Chapel.
